Campsite Set Up
The video above shows you how to set up your campsite. The main idea is to find the best location for your shelter, your kitchen and your recreation (s’mores). Here's a summary of the video:
Where to pitch your tent
- Look for a spot that's smooth, dry, and level.
- If summer, position your tent to take advantage of cooling breezes.
- Orientate your tent to take advantage of beautiful views or night star formations. Which 5-star luxury hotel room lets you change your view every night?
Where to set up your kitchen
- Near the water faucet.
- Safety first. Especially with children running around.
- Throw your trash before you go to bed if you don’t want bears a-visiting.
Where to set up your Campfire
- The fire pit. Don’t be creative. Stick to the fire pit.
- Put the fire out at night.
Where’s the toilet?
We use public facilities. No nearby public bathroom facilities? We don’t go to that campground. Period.
